Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 4 of 38: Riette Walton (riette) * Fri, Oct 1, 1999 (14:01) * 1 linesHow DARE you say such a thing??? Rodents are like rats or such things! Guinea pigs are not rodents, they are sweet, cudly, gnawy, hairy little pigs who just happen to have teeth like a rabbit.
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 5 of 38: Marcia (MarciaH) * Fri, Oct 1, 1999 (19:25) * 1 lines...but...but...bunnies are rodents, too...perhaps we should put them in a Cuddly Animals topic rather than under their classification (done by some unfeeling churl, no doubt!)
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 6 of 38: Wolf (wolf) * Fri, Oct 1, 1999 (20:30) * 1 linesHEY!! it was me, i'm a wolf, so i call em as i see em! *grin*
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 7 of 38: Wolf (wolf) * Fri, Oct 1, 1999 (20:39) * 1 linesthere's now a cuddly animal topic reserved for the pet rodents. we'll keep this topic for wild rodents. k?
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 8 of 38: Marcia (MarciaH) * Fri, Oct 1, 1999 (21:07) * 1 lines...pets to 26...more plebian mousy things stay here?! Oook...is there anyone who wants to admire "Ben" - the movie?
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 9 of 38: Marcia (MarciaH) * Fri, Oct 1, 1999 (21:11) * 1 linesOh Wolfie, YOU did not put cuddly critters into the Rodent classification in the beginning - you are not the Churl I was referring to...*hugs*
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 10 of 38: Wolf (wolf) * Fri, Oct 1, 1999 (21:18) * 1 linesi thought i was as i created the topic, but am not offended in the least *hugs*
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 11 of 38: Riette Walton (riette) * Sat, Oct 2, 1999 (03:41) * 1 linesThank you for my cuddly animal topic.
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 12 of 38: Karen (KarenR) * Mon, Oct 4, 1999 (21:58) * 1 linesOh goodie!! There's a rodent topic. Can anyone tell me how to spot the difference between a mouse and a rat? Or better yet, post some pics that clearly show the difference. And please don't tell me that certain mice wear little pants and sing and dance to silly tunes and have girlfriends named Minnie. ;-D
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 13 of 38: Karen (KarenR) * Mon, Oct 4, 1999 (21:59) * 1 linesand btw, these are definitely not *cuddly pets* :-(
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 14 of 38: Marcia (MarciaH) * Tue, Oct 5, 1999 (20:30) * 3 linesno they are not cute and cuddly...at all!!! I will hunt up something
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 15 of 38: Riette Walton (riette) * Wed, Oct 20, 1999 (07:34) * 2 linesI like mice, but not rats. They're not at all cuddly, and they don't get tame. THey only come to you, because of food. Mice are too small to cuddle - they'd just get scared.
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 16 of 38: Maggie (sociolingo) * Fri, Dec 3, 1999 (18:27) * 1 linesWho says Rats can't be tamed? I Love rats. I 'socialised' the nursery rats and they would sit on my shoulder quite happily, we did have them from babies though. I must admit I like guinea pigs too and fostered two of them for eighteen months recently. I find them SO funny, and the noises they make ....
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 17 of 38: Marcia (MarciaH) * Fri, Dec 3, 1999 (18:39) * 1 linesAh, so yours come under the cuddly animals topic, not the rodent topic. *lol* we had to create a new one for Riette because she refused to believe her beloved Guinea Pigs were in the same category as wharf rats. I also just adore Guinea Pigs. Not really adore, perhaps, but I think they are really cute and fun to play with.
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 18 of 38: Gi (patas) * Fri, Dec 3, 1999 (23:39) * 1 linesI was delighted when I found out they will not refuse an item of food - just store it inside their mouths (guinea pigs and hamsters *are* the same, aren't they?)
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 19 of 38: Marcia (MarciaH) * Fri, Dec 3, 1999 (23:57) * 1 linesNo - not really. Hamsters are about rat size and Guinnea Pigs are twice or three times that size - like a half-grown kitten.
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 20 of 38: Maggie (sociolingo) * Sat, Dec 4, 1999 (09:18) * 1 linesSome guinea pigs are real PIGS! (greedy I mean)
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 21 of 38: Marcia (MarciaH) * Sat, Dec 4, 1999 (14:48) * 1 linesYep, they are! Best to have a feeder for each one when meal time comes around.
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 22 of 38: Wolf (wolf) * Sat, Dec 4, 1999 (15:25) * 1 linesi hate cleaning their cages (hamsters too).
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 23 of 38: Marcia (MarciaH) * Sat, Dec 4, 1999 (15:41) * 1 linesThis is not abnormal, Wolfie *lol*...I do not like scrubbing toilets, either. Oh well, it must be done...!
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 24 of 38: Wolf (wolf) * Sat, Dec 4, 1999 (18:00) * 1 linesyes, but do you put it off? (maybe not the toilets)
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 25 of 38: Marcia (MarciaH) * Sat, Dec 4, 1999 (19:07) * 3 linesThe only one I was familiar with (talking cages here) had hardware cloth for the bottom and it was not mine - belonged to the boy next door when I was young and innocent and all that. I do not remember what cleaned it...they lived outdoors in their cage as I recall.
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 26 of 38: Wolf (wolf) * Sat, Dec 4, 1999 (20:06) * 1 linesi've seen pet bunnies living outside here and in Kansas. never seen a guinea pig living outside.
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 27 of 38: KJArt (KJArt) * Sat, Dec 4, 1999 (20:36) * 2 lines(Marcia) .....but...but...bunnies are rodents, too..
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 28 of 38: Marcia (MarciaH) * Sat, Dec 4, 1999 (21:17) * 2 linesYeahyeahyeah....they are lagomorphs...pickypickypicky!!! We cover them under Cuddly critters which is non-sectarian or classification-neutral.
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 29 of 38: Maggie (sociolingo) * Sun, Dec 5, 1999 (10:48) * 1 linesOur fostered guinea pigs (tufty and smoothie - guess why!) had an ouside run all summer. Far better than a lawn mower -we just rotated the pen around. The vet castigated me for keeping them inside in the winter!!!!! said I was pampering them - who me???
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 30 of 38: KJArt (KJArt) * Sun, Dec 5, 1999 (19:31) * 4 lines(Marcia) Come back when you get bored with Drool (and you will!)
And I say "Ha!" again!
Now don't bother me, I've got work to do having absolutely nothing to do with bunnies, etc.!
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 31 of 38: Marcia (MarciaH) * Sun, Dec 5, 1999 (19:50) * 1 linesWell...one thing is for certain - if you hang around Drool long enough you learn how to make all sorts of fonts and sizes of type...(are you sure you are not working in your local Playboy Club, KJArt?!) *lol*
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 32 of 38: KJArt (KJArt) * Sun, Dec 5, 1999 (20:21) * 1 linesIn spite of the fact that that sort of thing appeals to Mr. Darcy (Mark, not Fitzwilliam), I'm afraid I've got too much tail to be further enhanced by a cotton one! ;-)
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 33 of 38: Marcia (MarciaH) * Sun, Dec 5, 1999 (20:29) * 1 lines*lol* I doubt that, but you would know better than I. Perhaps it is your perspective? We are not objective observers of ourselves, I think! (Yep! Mark would love that sort of male bonding stuff)

Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 37 of 38: Alpha Wolf (wolf) * Sat, Jul 15, 2006 (18:38) * 1 lineswe only caught one rat in our trap and had to set a second one. no one has even nibbled at it since being placed several months ago (and we know there's still a rat in the garage)
Topic 21 of 58 [SpringArk]: Rodents Response 38 of 38: SpringArker (cfadm) * Sat, Jul 15, 2006 (23:52) * 1 linesWe caught two in the last week and the mice seem to be retreat. Both were pb.
